The Global Paradigm Shift

A billion people will interact daily with AI, but only a fraction of women participate in creating them.

The Imbalance

AI is transforming every job category, yet women—especially from underserved regions—remain dramatically underrepresented in both design and AI fields. Less than 25% of the global tech workforce is female, and women are disproportionately excluded from AI-literacy pathways.

This imbalance isn't just an equity issue; it accelerates algorithmic bias and limits economic mobility. When the systems that shape modern healthcare, education, finance, and governance lack diverse perspectives, society suffers.

Our Solution is Ingenious

Most AI or tech-skilling initiatives focus narrowly on coding or advanced machine-learning theory, which can unintentionally exclude large populations. 1MW introduces a new paradigm: Design as the gateway to AI literacy.

By using human-centered design as the entry point—an accessible, creative discipline—we build confidence and problem-solving skills before introducing technical concepts. This reframes AI as a tool for augmentation rather than intimidation, empowering women to move from passive consumers to active creators.
