Tell us about yourself and your work.
Hi, I am Krishaa Ravishankar. I am a proud UXer currently interning with BSH india as UX intern. I am
passionate about UX research and love sharing stories of every home to drive change through
my work. I believe that human needs are the center for any good design solution.
How has been your experience as a UX India volunteer?

My association with UXINDIA has been extremely insightful to me both as a designer and as
a person. Being associated with them as a volunteer has connected me with the UX community and opened up new possibilities for me within the field. It has helped me grow and further my passion for the subject. Interacting with people has also expanded my knowledge on the matter. Apart from innumerous benefits on the professional front, i have made friendships I hold close and that is one of my biggest takeaways from my experience as a volunteer.

Why do you think more female students should learn design and take up design-based professions?
Women are known to have a higher sensitivity to empathize with users providing them with an
upper hand in a field such as UX that prioritizes empathy more than others. Having a higher
number of women in the community ensures that the field progresses holistically towards User
centered design.
How can a design professional grow as a UX designer?

Where do you see yourself in UXINDIA team in the next 5 years?
I see myself taking key responsibilities and helping the core team organize the upcoming versions
of UXIndia to its glory. Irrespective of the roles I assume in the future, my association and
commitment to the growth of this community will remain un-wavered.
What makes UMO Design different than other design communities and conferences?

Unlike other organizations, UMO design is a self-sustained organization thriving on the ideas and
visions of its people. No member goes unheard or unrecognized in this community. They also
believe in equal opportunity for all, making it an organization to be proudly associated with.

What are your expectations from 1MW initiative?
I hope to see more women join the community and contribute more actively to its growth. Increased diversity ensures broader spectrum of thought and ideas to ultimately ensure more innovation.
